Process optimization in public organizations is an ongoing challenge due to factors such as bureaucracy and resistance to change. This theoretical research focuses on analyzing innovative strategies and tools that can be implemented to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes in Panamanian public organizations. Through an exhaustive review of specialized literature and an analysis of successful international cases, the main areas of opportunity for process optimization in the Panamanian context will be identified. The results of this study are expected to contribute to the generation of knowledge about best practices in the field and to lay the foundation for future empirical research. Preliminary findings anticipate that a lack of personnel training, obsolete information systems, and resistance to change are limiting factors for process optimization. Likewise, the study is expected to reveal the importance of adopting automation technologies and methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma to improve efficiency and reduce costs. In conclusion, process optimization is a fundamental task to improve the quality of public services and increase citizen satisfaction. The results of this research will provide a valuable guide for decision-makers in Panama, by identifying the most appropriate strategies and tools to address the challenges of modernizing public management.
